Take discrete 1 since afaik Math 300 is only accepted as a substitute if you get a B+ or A (unless they changed it recently), and it's definitely a more difficult course (I have taken both of them). You should only even consider math 300 if you would require it for specific math electives or if you're doing a math major/minor.
