I have noticed if i turn my car on and let the cd player run for about 10 - 15 minutes it will work okay and it wont skip as often. I JUST BOUGHT MY FX ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO ...Just to make sure it was with the vinyl, I played it again, and it was skipping in the exact same way. It sounds like when it burned the CD it burned it with MP3 files vs. the actual WAV file that is needed. Most boom boxes don't support MP3's. You chose the option of Audio CD, because I think it defaults to use MP3...see this support article and let me know:

I recently purchased a new macbook pro, and the external cd drive will not work--I can't see the drive anywhere. It still works on the old macbook pro. I've double checked my preferences for external drives, looked in disk utilities to see if it shows up there--all to no avail. It's obviously not the cd drive or its connection.
